Believed to be the first inhabitants of Kethria, the wood elves tend to be slightly shorter than their cousins, and tend to have darker hair and eyes. Their culture is clan based, and largely decentralized; a marked distinction from the Kingdom-building Kalderian people. They are individualistic and creative, and although brave, this individuality has prevented them from being effective at war. While usually a peaceful people, they can be fierce warriors when led by an effective leader. In many ways they are similar to the Celtic culture of Terra.
They have had a much longer exposure to the whims of the Titans than other races, and have a certain mystique about them as a result of this exposure. As a result of this, they are sometimes viewed with distrust by others.
Wood elves, at least those living in Kalderia, hate Ivinians with a passion, as they have been oppressed and in many cases enslaved by the Ivinians throughout what once was their own kingdom. When Kalderians began to build cultures to the south, the Wood Elves feared they had new enemies along their southern borders. Instead, Ivinian raids into coastal Ketheria brought the Wood Elves new allies. While the Ivinian-Kalder wars are centuries over and the two peoples have long intermarried along the Arvanduil river basin, the Wood Elves remember. The Ivinian conquest is within living memory for them and there are 500 year-old elves hunting game with scars from those battles.
